This Spring/Summer has flown by and, true to form, I’ve neglected posting on here. But there’s certainly no complaining - I’ve worked at lots of beautiful events and had quite a few amazing holidays. Plus, its only right to follow my usual chaotic posting style - catching up on as much content as possible before going radio silent for another six months. In April, I went to an epic wedding in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. With only a couple of days in the town and little free time outside of events, I’d done little research ahead of visiting (very unlike me) and had no idea what to expect. But from the moment I arrived, I was blown away by the town’s charm. It is easily one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited…
The sun-drenched cobbled streets are lined with buildings of mustard yellow, burnt orange and deep red hues - a feast for the eyes.
The Baroque architecture adds a sense of grandeur - immediately reminding me of Merida, where similar Spanish colonial influences were at work.
Climbing plants and overflowing window boxes add a touch of earthiness to the overall aesthetic.
And every turns leads to something exciting, whether it’s a hidden rooftop terrace, a chic restaurants, stark gallery or a sleeping pup…
An obvious highlight for me was exploring the town’s interior scene. I could have spent hours browsing the beautifully curated stores, admiring the intricate textiles, ceramics and furniture.
Oh and the wedding at The Rosewood, of course…
San Miguel de Allende is a town that effortlessly blends old-world charm with contemporary vibrancy. It is quaint and intimate, yet has a hum of excitement in the air. I’m sure I'll be back to soak up more of its magic one day - with an extra suitcase for shopping…
