A Real Life Sims House

Before the big event, we spent some time in Puerto Escondido, a port town in the state of Oaxaca. Known for its beaches and buzzing nightlife, it is an ideal destination for those seeking sun, sea and a little R&R…
The centre is filled with palm trees and thatch-roofed bars, giving the surfer town a relaxed and laid-back atmosphere. And while it is a little rough around the edges, there are certainly some hidden gems to discover. We stumbled upon Mombasa for drinks, Fish Shack La Punta for fresh seafood, and a Peruvian restaurant with barefoot waiters that blew us away.
However, the real star of the show was our Airbnb. Hidden along a dusty road at the tip of Zicatela beach sits Casa Verde. The huge olive-coloured house is a feat of architecture that wouldn't look out of place in Hawaii.
The inside-outside living space gives an exotic feel, and the simple bedrooms with king-sized beds, white linen and parquet floors are adorned with cute details like turtle door handles and striped cushions.
The manicured garden and huge swimming pool look out onto the crashing waves, giving the feeling that you're alone in the space - just you and the ocean.
Flanked by a couple of poolside bars and seating areas, the space is perfect for a game of cards or a lazy day in the sun.
Like the rest of the town, Villa Verde is a little worn, but it's all you need to enjoy the vibe of Puerto Escondido. And run, don’t walk - theres plenty of construction going on and I’m quite sure this laid back area will be built up in no time. Book our Airbnb here!
