Admin & EstiMAC
Why don’t I go all out and make this space an online CV by mentioning one final software I learnt? Okay, I will. Here comes my review of EstiMAC…
Developed for interior designers, EstiMAC aims to keep the financial and administrative aspect of projects under control. This really hammers home the fact that interior design consists of a lot of admin and you really do have to be organised (good job I worked in Account Management, eh).
So, what are the benefits?
Well, the platform enables users to create estimates, invoices, POs, reports and schedules, meaning you can do away with Excel documents. In these, you can add descriptions, images, costs, makeups, fees - the list goes on.
All calculations are automatic, eliminating the need to set up formulae. Here, it’s also worth mentioning that you can change the tax rate (as well as the language) to reflect where you are working.
You can also add all your favourite suppliers, along with their contact details, meaning you can easily reach out to them within the platform.
And above all, it is super intuitive. There are online guides to help walk you through the basics, and then it just takes a bit of time to familiarise yourself before you can produce something like the below (ground breaking, I know).
The drawbacks? I would say the only thing missing is the ability to add links directly into descriptions.
And there you have it - short and sweet, just like the time it takes to learn the software. I’m pretty sure it is used consistently across the industry and, since leaving KLC, it has been on every job spec I’ve come across - so definitely one to keep in mind!
