Glitzy NYE Tablescape
Happy New Year to you and your loved ones! To kick off 2022, I’ve resolved to create lots reels dedicated to my love of tablescapes. Perhaps they’ll even inspire you, whatever event you are planning. I’ll try to use my blog to document these, as well as my wider interior design learnings and, of course, my trips away. Let’s see how far I get this year…
First up, NYE glamour. Let me set the scene.
Inspiration
A mini disco ball. I’m not kidding.
Colours
Silver, with touches of grey, black and white. I do worry that these colours can look a bit tacky on a table. To avoid this, I’ve included warmer silver tones in the scheme. Anyway, it’s NYE, the perfect time to up the glitz.
Botanicals
I tried to stay close to the colour scheme here, as well as being as simple as possible, so used gypsophila. I didn’t want the botanicals to steal the show as they normally do. This tablescape is about partying and partying hard.
Details
More mini disco balls, of course. And baubles, since they are pretty easy to find around this time of year.

Building the look
I started with a plain base. Nothing too fancy, just a basic cotton tablecloth.
Instead of buying a runner, I got some sequinned fabric. It’s definitely cheaper and means you can get a bit of movement/ texture in, rather than the material laying flat.
Next, I added my botanicals in little bud vases. These flowers are from my local florist. At the same time, I added my candles - you can get these from so many different places and they are a good opportunity to look for independent brands.
I then added by mini disco balls and baubles - the stars of the show. You could remove the string holders, but equally, by keeping these on, you can use them on your tree next year. Double whammy!
For each place setting, I started with a silver plate charger, followed by white plates, a grey napkin and cutlery - wrapped up in a little black bow. I also used simple glassware for a sleek finish.
Et voila!
